Where Have I Been?

Seems like I just have deserted my passion, without even thinking twice. That's not even the case, just been super super busy with work and living life all together. Trust me when I say the music in my life has not stop evovling though.
Many albums have been released .Some are Jeremih, Mariah Carey,Trey Songz D.C native and one of my favorites, Wale, and of course Hip Hop King Jay-Z with The Blueprint 3. One album that is much anticipated is Alicia Keys, The Element of Freedom. I will lightly talk about that one, but will go into much further detail upon the release of the album.

Let me start out with one of my top favorites Rihanna's Rated R. Can you say back with more then avengence! This album is pure validation that her heart was torn out of her chest. She then sowed it up perfectly like a heart surgen with each track as the stitches that heald her wounds. Now this isn't the sweet innocent Rihanna we are all used to. This is the you thought you were gonna beat my ass and I would be all sad, hell to the Naw Im gonna sell way more then you, Rihanna.Rihanna clearly had somethin to say on Rated R, almost every track is written by her. Rated R is also a big name album with Justin Timberlake, The Dream, Ne-yo, Will I Am and Tricky Steward as a few of the producers, there was no way this album wasnt a certified explosion.Top songs on the album are, Russian Rulette, Wait your Turn, Hard ft. Jeezy and my favorite track is Cold Case Love. Rated R is most diffinetly one you want in your collection.

Ok on to the next .. Jeremih. Now alot of people would concider this guy a one hit wonder, but I would say that's only because radio isnt pushing the album hard enough. Jeremih is clearly talented but radio has a tendacy to over look truely talented artists. Birthday Sex was nothing compared to what is on the album. His second single was a nice follow up and went well for the clubs, but in my opinion his most recent single Make up to Break up is th best by far. This is why I liked his music so much. I like when artists take a chance on different style beats, and for some reason this song reminds me of a horse trotting.. and I love it!! One track that is pure heat to me is that Body.. now if they put this out on the strip club scene this thing would be a certified nasty mess.. lol I Love it. Nice album, and I would hope that they give this guy a chance cause he might do well.

Another RnB album that was very nice, was Mr. I Invented Sex himself Trey Songz. Now this album is a little more nasty then I remember Trey Songz being, but it's still nice. This cd is most deffinatly one that you could put on just to get you in that mood, minus two club bangers Say Ahh ft. Fabolous, and LOL smiley face with Gucci Man and Soulja Boy. All together this is a nice one as well.. Not sure if it bangs from track 1 to 16 in my opinion, but its nice.

Never Can Say Goodbye

Michael Jackson 1958-2009

Let me start off by saying that I wanted to do this the other day but I felt that I really wasn't ready to write about someone who has impacted my life so emencly . My feelings were expressing to me that I needed to really feel the loss of this man before I could truly express my thoughts. Plus I knew that there would be an out pouring of peoples emotions on the day, and the days following his death, so I needed to do this when I felt the time was right, not right away.
With that said somehow I still feel that it is hard for me to put into words how I am feeling deep down inside. Where do you begin when music is the gravitational pull in your life, and one of the major forces of that pull is gone. So many memories come flooding into my mind when I begin to think about Mr. Jackson. Like when I was a little girl and I would stay up and watch VH1 all the time just to see his videos. Or how I would rock the one curl in front and do my impression of the King of Pop. what I loved most about him,was that he was a light! I was a child who had to grow up around the harsh words of hate and racism. The slander and the pure evil that was expressed from some of my family would tear at my soul. Yet Michael Jackson's music was a healing band aid to my injured heart. I knew that there were other people in this world who felt about hatred the way I did. I knew that God put all people on this planet to love one another, and through one of my favorite venues, music, he proved me right. I would watch free willy over and over again just to hear some of Michael's songs in the movie and hear his song at the end. I loved all the stages of Michael from the Jackson 5 days, to the Afro big nose Michael, to the Jerry curl and finally to the perm.. lol Michael Jackson's music crossed over every generation, and lasted. Never did his spot light fade!

When one single person can effect the whole world the way this man does, how can you not see the power in our souls. The power that is deep within us, that when we let it out we can literally change the world. Michael Jackson has been doing that since he was a child. He changed peoples views, he changed peoples thoughts and I am sure he change a few peoples choice of action. Racism was a raging fire of hate when Michael was a child, but through his gift he found a way to bring people together. I believe once he saw what he could do with his talents that started a whole nother fire deep within him. He knew that he could bring positivity to this planet and he did just that. I am not saying that he was a saint but I am saying that he was given to us for a reason and a purpose and he fulfilled that purpose.

Some people want to sit around and point their fingers on all the wrong that he did, and the scandals he was involved in. Yet he made it very clear that he was just human, and like you and me he was not perfect. Wasn't it Jesus that said "Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone"So many of us are sinners there for basically if you cant say anything nice, say nothing at all. focus on the positive and respect the man the legend and his mourning family.
I pray that all of us see how we can influence our human race. We may not be able to touch as many lives as Michael did but just by touching and effecting one life can make a ripple effect that continues for many many years to come. so what will be your one I self contribution to this world?
God Bless you Michael Jackson, and Thank you.. from me.. for your music and your soul!

Here She comes!

Amerie is back, and to be so very truthful this track is summer fire! Ive thougth very highly of Amerie since she dropped her first single, Why dont we fall in love. That was yet another summer smash.

I love the fact that she ties in here DC roots in her beats. You can hear the city rhythem pounding out of the speakers, with the soultry sound of her voice lacing the track perfectly.
Now it seems that in the RnB world the women are steppin their game up, and coming with some true talent. We have Keri Hilson, Ciara, and Beyonce all comin with the tripple talent theme. What i am waiting for is Alicia's new album, shell kill them all!

Maxwell has returned...

So one of the most soulful voices in Rnb has finally decided to make his way back into the music industry. His return is a much welcomed one, he has been missed with much passion. Seems like we are drowning in horrible songs, and boy bands. Vocalizors and rappers trying to sing, we need some real Neo-Soul back in the game. He comes in like the winds of the warm summer sun. soultry and honest. His first song "Pretty Wings" Resignated right to the depth of my soul, seeing as though Ive gone through my fair share of heart breaks. The melody, calm and heartfelt, over rhode every single horrible song we had been forced to inject over the past couple years. I know that he will be back to claim Real Soul music, for us. The true music lovers. The crowd that believes in talent and using what God gave you to make people happy. Not to talk about how you would hump every girl in the world... lol like that beat though. Or go deeper in their souls, to find inspiration for their lyrics. Heartfelt apologizes, or honest feelings for another. Where is the love people. Where are the singers who release built up feelings that fester deep with in them. Where are the ones who bring chills to your spine when they hit the note, letting you know your not the only one who lives this journey called life?
Well one of them is back and his name is Maxwell. I welcome him back to the game, and I pray he is received with open arms!

Where have I been??

Ok so today I ran across some GOOD or shall I say absolutely amazing music. I dont even understand how I could of missed this the whole time. I mean how can I even say that I am a Hip Hop fan and not know about this genius! Sure Ive heard his name a few times, and I definitely have rocked out to a bunch of his beats, but I didn't realize who he was. Who is this music man I speak of? JDilla! AMAZING in all capitals! I ran across his track buy on projectplaylist.com. For 3 hours after that I just kept researching and researching, realizing this guy fits right in with what my soul enjoys.
From him I was then put on to Slum Village. Being that I was born in Detroit, and lived there for most of my childhood, how could I have missed this group. Many freakin mainstream... Im goin sideways and underground for my music choices. Apparently that where they hide all the treasures. Slum Village had a few tracks that I was aware of that I had just forgotten all about, pushed them under the rug of my teenage years of trashy music and radio ears. What I love most about these artists is their ability to take a classic song remake it, then tell a story that keeps you holding on to the very last cord of instrument playing. Should I call it story telling, or soul music preaching? Lyrical madness in a world of music garbage!I get so excited when I am awakened to real music. The feeling in my soul, vibrating. I swear my soul loves real Hip Hop that speaks to the masses, that tells a story of how someone made it out. Where they were and where they are made them into how they are now. I love the hypnotic beats and soulful voices. The metaphors and similes, its poetry in motion!

New Track

Heard this track the other day in the car not too sure who this cat is, but this song is hottness!!

New Albums you Must have

Well here we are in the late end of March.. Took a lil break from bloggin about music, but I Have to update you on all the goodies out there. Everyone knows that the new Kanye album is Vicous!! 808's and Heartbreaks took a few plays for it to grow on me. Once the growing began, I was stuck. See you in my nightmares, Say you will, Robocop, Love Lock down.. well shit that whole album is dope. Kanye is strong in his musical talents, and he is always gettin it in!
Beyonce's I am Sasha Fierce, what can I say? Ive been a slight Beyonce fan from the Destinys Child Days. She can put out club bangers and booty shakers. This album was a taste of something different though. I wast really feelin the Diva thing. Sounded too much like Weeyzs A Millie.. wasn't original to me. Felt like Beyonce was being fake to who she is. This album was more of an electric feel verses her normal love ballads. Some of my favorites are Radio, Broken hearted girl and my top fav which is mostly like Beyonce Halo.. Man I love that Track.. Halo was personally addressed to me from my soul. Not a love song to a man, but a song that sings to my soul! I was goin through tuff times when this track was released, the melody and strings pulled on my soul in a way that corrected all my wrongs and kept my head high to the vision infront of me.
Now on to the Newest Albums.
Ryan Leslie's self titled album Ryan Leslie, is great. Ryan Lesile has been in the game for a while, and like most of the best artists he's been working behind the scenes producing for may artists. Working with Bad Boy, and his production company Next Selection.I love watchin him on you tube. The way he works the instruments over each other producting a perfect melody is like magic infront of your eyes. He has a very in tune ear to music.Keep doin it Ryan..some of the hottest tracks on that album are.. Shouldn't have to wait, Outta the Blue, Diamond Girl and one of my favorites Gibberish.. Not many people give him the play and respect he needs and deserves. I personally love this album.
Ok so now its time for a female. This week Keri Hilson released her new album. To my great surprise, this album is good. I really dont put very much faith into new female artists who have tracks that are ft. with The hottest Rapper out at the time. Most of the time we get one banger on the album and the rest is trash, but Keri Hilson seems to be the diamond in Ruff of trashy music. Her ability is so obviously in song writing, and her soulful voice is clearly a storng hold on her talent as well. She has worked with many many veterans in the music game writing #1 hit after #1 hit. You know her money is right, so putting out an album was more of a passion vs. money driven. I was surprised by the various producers that blessed this album. you Have timberland, Kanye, Neyo just to name a few. One of my favorite tracks is her single out right now with Kanye and Neyo.. Knocks me down. Its nice when you can feel what an artist is trying to do with their music.Keri Hilson has a very bright future, and gold and platinum line he roads she rides down.

Now to my favorite of them all The-Dream
Yes ladies and Gentleman he has dropped yet another bangger! The Radio Killa is the real dilla! I love this guy! I was hooked on his music the moment I heard him sing those famous lines "fuck that Ni$$@" Love Vs. Money is the 2nd chapter in the musical of The Dream story book of hits. Dream apparently has been hurt by someone, and sorry to say I love it, Im livin the same thing. I swear this guy has split personality disorder cause it is obviously played out in his music. How his songs constantly go in different directions by the end of the song. LIke Mr. yeah.. starts out up beat and melodic, then twards the end slows down with finger snaps, piano harmonies and souful singing.. YOU can always come back!! love it love it! He has a story to tell about his broken heart, thought money would make life right we all learn the hard way money cant buy you love, but it can buy you christian lacroix.. Many people haven't jumped on dream yet, which at times can be good, then they dont murder him on the radio.. but then he doesn't get the play and album sales he deserves.
So far this year has been a very exciting year in music for me, I just cant wait to see what the summer holds. I know i will be blastin The Dream and Keri Hilson. I am waiting to see when Alicia Keys will drop a new album.. and i know luda is back in studio.. Until next time. Keep it right and Do it 4 ur soul!
Soul work!

No Longer Do I wonder

Wow.. That's all I can say! Mr.West put it down last night. He is defined in my book as a true performer. He stole the show away, put it was really no match. He knew he was the one we all were waiting to see. Amazing! Cocky, no not at all just confident. Not in vein either! He rocked the show from the moment his presents was felt in the stadium, to the moment he walked off! Most Hip Hop shows Ive been to, The "artist" has like his whole family, their friends and some dudes they just met on the stage. Oh no, Mr.West is a one man show! The only other member on the stage was he intergalactic spaceship. She was helping him on his journey through the universe. Lettin him know that he was the only star that shinned the brightest! I LOVE THAT! Like he said "Im a star, how could I not shine!

Every song was a performance, a show in it self. He wasn't runnin out of breath, or missin any words. This was his gift to us and we were all very thankful and welcome.. lol

Positivity flows from within him, nothing like anything out here. He is ready for the world of hip hop to come running back to him. With his infectious beats and uplifting lyrics how could you not love this guy? Yeah he thinks hes the shit! I would too if i wrote "Can't tell me nothing" I don't think you can name one person who hasn't rapped along to at least 6 bars of that song. He doesn't tell kids to go rob someone, or talk about all his boys that died. He puts you on to the game. The game of life, and if you just try you don't have to stare at the same four walls all your life.I guess when your used to bein ripped off you dont know how to respect the good stuff. That's just what he is the goods. Common, Lupe, John Legend, Talib,Raheem DeVaughn, Alicia keys. Those are artists.. they don't just jump around screamin some nonsence. What they bring is what is buried deep down into the depths of their souls. The hurt the joy the love, all expressed beautifully through there vision of what song is! A story told in the eyes of the musician. Some said Mozart was insane, but didn't he makes some of the most amazing music? I believe so! Don't criticize a man just because he knows what he brings is not your typical walk in the park.. Instead, stop, listen bob your head and take in what he has to say. You might gain some knowledge, I mean he is a College Grad!

They always hate to see you on the top.Once you get there, your tested on how and why you made it through. So then they gotta bring you down. Yet i don't think Kanye is coming down anytime soon. It looks to me if he took some good advise, he listened to his heart. Planted his harvest and now its growin wild! Hes chillin on the top on the mountain, built on the ROC!

Theater of The Mind

The drought of music in this dry deserts has finally had its down pour of new albums. In the last couple months we've had some albums come out, but nothing to go crazy about... UNtil now! Just last Monday my favorite artist dropped a new album.Christopher "Ludacris" Bridges. I am a huge Ludacris fan. I believe that he doesn't get the respect, and play that he deserves. He seems to stay above the radar because of all his features on other artists albums. when his albums drops not so many fans jump to catch what he's throwin at us. well Mr. Bridges you caught me years ago, and I'm still hooked. This new album is Amazing, with a capital A! The same lyrical Luda, with a new groove behind him. Its like his swagga has gone from G to Gentleman.. Theater of The Mind, is a show stoppin hip hop lovers dream come true. Every hot artist out now, makes a co star appearance on this classic. The all star cast is a compilation of what made us love hip hop!
Each track has a story to tell, from the mind of a money makin, booty shackin, lyrical master, Chris the menace.
Luda even finds a fun way to in salt him while still makin his point. On everyone hate chris.. he starts the track with FU LUda!! His point is, hes gonna be the ish.. so hate on him! "Rappers still talkin Shi# like they was rhymin in farts!" Ha, gotta love his jokes! You know it wouldn't be an album if Tpain wasnt on it. With his single out right now, One More Drink Luda tells the story of a typical clubbers love life. Cause ya know people start to look better with that shot or two of patrizzie.
Luda always seems to please the ladies, he is the finest man in the rap game in my opinion! He tells you how to please her in his single I know what them Girls like. Throw some Chris Brown on it, and a thick bass bounce and you got a hit! Now there are tracks on this album that are pure music sickness, in a good way! Last of a Dying breed, Mvp, I do it for hip hop, and Do the right thang. Last of a Dying breed is a track ft. none other than Weezy F Baby, Lil Wayne. This is a reminder that real hip hop still lives and breaths in the lungs of these two artist and their thoughts and passions are here to stay. Mvp is the only track on the album with no Co stars... He is the mvp, Luda reminds us with this track. With a premo beat behind him how could you ever doubt the talent? One of the hottest tracks co stars two of Hip Hops biggest pioneers, Jay Z and Nas. The beat is a lullaby to the streets, and a poem to hip hops soul! This track is a reminder that we are NOT To settle for just some garbage, we deserve real music. This is not a counterfeit. Some rappers forgot what a Passion is and luda reminds us!
The last track on the alubm is co starting yet again another true hip hop star, Common! Being a huge common fan, I love this track. This track is tellin us that life is too short to be walkin around like your sleepin, wake up and take control of your life. You can do and be more!
Use your brain homie do the right thang!
Theater of the mind is an answered prayer from the Hip Hop gods. Ludacris is a metaphorically enabled, bright future bringing man. Ludacris has grown a lot from the young man he once was. yet his funny in your face style has remained the same. I for one never want that to change. Go get this master piece you wont be disappointed.

Thank you luda, for killin it yet again. I am a huge fan, and i will always respect your hustle. I don't feel disrespected by you. I know that you get what you give, and I am a woman!
